1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit it. Local storage is a similar browser technology that lets a website remember information on your device. Both help websites work properly, remember your preferences and understand how they are used.

1a. Types of cookies explained

  • Strictly necessary — required for core features such as the cart and checkout. They cannot be switched off in our systems.
  • Functional — remember your choices, such as items in your wishlist and recently viewed products.
  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. Only used with your consent.
  • Marketing — used to show relevant ads on other websites. We currently do not use marketing cookies.

First-party cookies are set by our Site; third-party cookies are set by other services embedded in a page. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.

2. How we use them

We keep our use of cookies and similar technologies to a minimum. Our Site is built to work without third-party tracking scripts. We use:

ess_couponLocal storage – essentialRemembers a valid coupon code applied to your cartUntil checkout
ess_wishLocal storage – functionalSaves your wishlistUntil you remove items

This information stays in your browser. It is not sent to our servers and is not used to identify you.

3. Analytics and marketing cookies

If we introduce privacy-friendly analytics or marketing cookies in the future, they will only be activated after you click "Accept all" in our cookie banner. Choosing "Essential only" means only the storage necessary for the cart, wishlist and consent will be used. This page will be updated with the details of any such cookies before they are used.

4. Third-party services

When you click links to social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube) you leave our Site, and those services may set their own cookies according to their policies. Payment providers used at checkout may also use strictly necessary cookies to prevent fraud.

5. Managing your preferences

You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie settings (also available in the footer of every page). You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Please note that blocking essential storage will stop the cart and checkout from working correctly.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookie Policy when our Site changes. For any question, contact us at [email protected]. For more information about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

Strictly necessary storage is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working online shop (and, in the EU, under the exemption for services explicitly requested by you). All other cookies are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of any analytics or marketing cookies.
